ELMLEY CASTLE . WORCS . ST MARY
The first dial featured is thought to be the earliest dial of its kind, dating from c. 1545 (CSD). There’s a great deal more to be written about it in due course. There are a number of different types of dial, including scaphe dials. A detailed illustrated examination of this dial will appear in the fullness of time.
